What Our Waynesboro Customers Say
Real reviews from real Waynesboro-area neighbors.
“Inherited my grandmother’s silver tea set and had no idea what it was worth. Brought it in β they weighed each piece, showed me the spot, paid me on the spot. Honest people.”
“Had a coffee can full of old silver dimes from my dad. Other places lowballed me. Valley Pawn ran the numbers in front of me and paid almost double the first offer I got.”
“Sold a box of Silver Eagles. Process was simple, the offer was fair, and the team made me feel respected. Will be back for sure.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Use the calculator above for an instant offer range based on today’s spot price and your silver’s purity and weight. For a firm offer, bring it in or text us a photo.
Absolutely. Sterling flatware sets are one of the most common items we buy. Bring the whole chest β we’ll weigh it and pay you for the silver content. Forks, spoons, knives, ladles, hostess pieces all count.
Silver-plated has almost no melt value (just a thin silver coating over base metal). We may still buy specific plated pieces for resale value (designer brands, intact sets), but most plated items don’t pay much. The calculator above is for solid silver β sterling or higher.
Sterling silver is stamped “Sterling,” “.925,” or “925.” Silver-plate is usually marked “EPNS,” “Silverplate,” “A1,” or has no purity stamp. We test with an acid kit if it’s not clearly marked.
Yes β pre-1965 US dimes/quarters/halves/dollars (90% silver), 1965β1970 Kennedy halves (40% silver), Silver Eagles, foreign silver, and bullion. For rare or collectible coins, ask for a free numismatic evaluation β sometimes the collector value is much higher than the melt value. See our coins page β
No β please don’t. Tarnish doesn’t reduce value, and aggressive polishing can damage the silver. Bring it as-is.
Virginia law requires a government-issued photo ID for any precious-metals sale. Must be 18+. Bring your ID and your silver β that’s it.
